TransMIT Project Division for Ion Sources for Material Processing

The Objective of the TransMIT-Division of Ione Sources for Material Processing IQM is the development and selling of instrumentation for delivering ion and particle beams, especially Radio Frequency Ion Sources.
The Electric Space Propulsion Group of the I. Physics Institute of the Justus-Liebig-University Giessen is now working since 40 years in the field of ion sources especially for in space applications. The group has established its place as a research partner in national and international field.
Recently there have been more frequently requests from research institutes as well as industrial enterprises, which would use this technology in a simplified and practical form for terrestrial applications. Typical applications have been till now the material sputtering, coating or surface modification. Thereby the ion source concepts with a high level of performance and reliability have been developed close to the production line status.
The products of the IQM division provide besides a high performance and reliability an excellent and in this form unique experience basis for the adaptation of ion sources for customer specific application.
The product spectrum reaches from small sources for narrow surface modification applications up to larger sources for sputtering and stabling of the coatings. Supplying the complete ion system, composed of ion sources, neutralisers, power supplies, sensoric and controlling, the customer will be provided by a complete custom- tailored product.

The products and the services of this TransMIT-Division are aimed to cover the requirements of the research institutes and industrial enterprises, which need ion and particle beams for material processing.
